Behold! My servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. Isaiah 42.1-3
This passage clearly describes a servant of the Lord!
A servant does not exalt himself, he does not seek glory for himself and he has no personal interest. His only interest is to bring justice, this is, Salvation, through a pure faith, with one and only intention of fulfilling his greatest pleasure: saving. He does not care about where or how he will be serving, what matters is that he is serving.
He works to repair the broken reed and light the faith of those who are in darkness. This is his pleasure: to see people being saved. With truth and justice, he takes care of his flock. Notice that a servant does not mistreat or hurt those who come to him humiliated and suffering with a weak faith. He lights up their faith, removes their burdens and brings them to justice. The servant values the Altar, not the gold.
If we are servants of the Lord, we will not humiliate those who come to us like a bruised reed, this is, a reed that has no use for the owner of the plantation, those who do not serve for the world, those who’ve been despised and broken by suffering, yet we will serve them as if we were serving GOD Himself.
This should be our obligation!
