Unfortunately, the devil deceives many “sincere Christians” by having them receive a “false holy spirit”. The deceiving spirit is the worst kind of evil spirit, because it only falls short to the devil’s ability to deceive, to the point where it disguises itself as the real Holy Spirit, because of aspects that should not be considered relevant, such as speaking in tongues, since demons can speak in tongues too, and feeling emotions (crying and laughing), which can ultimately lead to a false sense of well-being. (Proverbs 1.32)
What is the importance of the Lord Jesus when we want to identify the Holy Spirit in us? It’s simple: the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
When we say that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus, we annul any possibility of Him becoming this “mysterious power” within the Church. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of our best Friend, Savior, who loved us enough to put aside His glory and make Himself our servant, serving us and dying for us all, so that we would be saved from the endless fire and live with Him for all of eternity.
For this reason, when Jesus told His disciples that the Holy Spirit would come, and referred to the Holy Spirit as “another Helper” (John 14.16), He was not referring to the possibility of the Holy Spirit being different or teaching us something different. The word “another”, in the context of the original language, does not mean a different kind, but another of the “same kind”.
Because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus, we cannot attribute to the Holy Ghost anything that conflicts with the truth taught by Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit and Jesus are not rivals or enemies, they do not compete for our faithfulness or offer different blessings. Therefore, Jesus says about the Holy Spirit:
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14.26
He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. John 16.14-15
Therefore, if you’re wondering whether you have the true Holy Spirit or not, look to the Lord Jesus and compare your actions, character and characteristics with His. What I want to make clear is that the Lord Jesus lived and sealed SUPERNATURAL FAITH as the only means of connecting us to God and everything that regards Him. A person that is filled with the Holy Spirit, above all, has to be filled with SUPERNATURAL FAITH, to overcome everything and everyone, just like the Lord Jesus won when He lived here as a man!
This comparison is the only way you can reach a perfect conclusion.
May God bless you all!
