Take a look at the perspective of an abundant life by faith through the docile behavior of sheep and their lambs.
They are not common animals. Their characteristics indicate that they were created by the Most High with a super special purpose: to represent Him in the work of Eternal Salvation.
Sheep are the only animals that are completely vulnerable. This is, different from all other animals, sheep do not have a sense of self-defense, nor will they defend themselves. Their life and safety depend entirely on their shepherd. If he does not fulfill his role, the sheep will be lost.
Isaiah prophesied about Jesus, saying: He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. Isaiah 53.7
The prophetic text clearly shows the defenseless mien of the lamb and sheep (a sheep in its first year is called a lamb).
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. John 10.27
The sheep of Jesus hear the voice of Jesus, recognize the voice of Jesus and obey the voice of Jesus because they trust the Word of Jesus.
Would this be the great mystery that involves a conscious faith? Yes, because to listen, acknowledge, obey and trust have nothing to do with emotional faith, a faith that feels this or that.
Like Jesus, sheep teach how to remain in harmony with the beloved Pastor and enjoy His provision and safety. They know the voice of their shepherd and obey Him because they trust Him. Their life depends on the unconditional obedience to His absolute leadership.
