Open eyes and attentive ears
Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. 2 Chronicles 7.15,16
If God’s eyes are never closed, why did He say: Now My eyes will be open?
If God’s ears are not covered, why did He say: and My ears will be attentive?
The answer is very simple: God sees everything, but what He sees in this House is so strong that it becomes different from everything else He sees in other places.
God hears everything, but what He hears in this house is so strong that He attentively listens to everything that is said in this House.
This is why it’s a House of Sacrifice.
And He further emphasizes, saying: …and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. In other words, He sees all things, but His eyes are set on everything that is done in this Place.
Imagine God’s heart being present in this House every day!
Since the heart represents life, this means that the life of God is present every day in this Place. And His heart is not corrupt or deceitful. This is the abundant life Jesus came to bring.
Are you going to seek this abundant life, or not?
In short, nothing that is said or done in the House of Sacrifice will go unnoticed by God.
