What was Abraham’s testimony

After hearing God’s voice, some people ask:

“Why do I have to sacrifice this or that? Why do I have to give up something or someone that I have been fighting to achieve for such a long time?”

Because of these questions, the person spends a lifetime denying God what He is asking for, and separates himself from the realization of God’s dream in his life.

All this happens because he does not understand this Word:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55.8-9

We can clearly see this is true in the story of Abraham:

  1. a) Thought of Abraham: have a child, an heir.
  2. b) Thought of God: Make him a father of many nations.

Now, it’s easy to understand why Isaac needed to be sacrificed. Among other reasons we already know, Isaac was the testimony of Abraham, but a Sacrifice was necessary to realize the dream of God.

When a person understands that he is being called to fulfill a dream of God, which is much larger than his, he must also understand that the level of demand increases, like what happened with God Himself that, to cover the shame of Adam and Eve, sacrificed an animal, but to give all of mankind the opportunity of Salvation, He had to sacrifice His own Son, the Holy Lamb without blemish, which was infinitely more Precious!

To finish, here’s an even more important detail: Abraham did not have Isaac when Sarah gave birth to him, but when he offered him on the Altar.

God bless you greatly!
