Sacred, consecrated, holy and separated have the same spiritual meaning: dedicated to the Almighty God.
An offering reflects the soul of the offering-giver surrendered on the Altar;
It replaces the offering-giver on the Altar;
The Lord Jesus was God’s offering to replace sinners and expiate their guilt;
God the Son had no guilt or sin before God the Father.
The offering of His life was perfect and holy, this is why it was accepted as a replacement for the sinners who truly believed in Him.
He, and only He, could replace the sinner and carry his sins to the grave.
But it wasn’t always like this. Even the manifestation of the Son of God had rules for sin offerings. The severity of each sin required a certain sacrificial offering. The sacrifice had to be a male animal without imperfections, which symbolized Jesus – Man without sin.
The offering-givers guilt was transferred to the animal, which was then killed on the sacrificial altar. The sinner was then free from guilt because his sin had been killed along with the offering.
Animal sacrifices were abolished with the death of Jesus.
But the sin of those who are not converted to the Lord Jesus remains alive until the moment they convert.
If they die without converting, their sins will accompany them for all of eternity. On Judgment Day, they will be condemned to the Lake of fire and brimstone and join Satan, the demons, hell, the Antichrist, the Beast, death and everyone whose name is not written in the Book of Life – This is the second and final death.
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. Revelation 21.8
