Awards and luxurious celebrations. A red carpet, impeccable decor and refined menu. Mouth’s drop at the sight of great celebrations held throughout the world. Most would give anything to be able to attend one of them.
But we know that to be invited, you need to match a series of requirements, which involve your reputation, attire and behavior. It is not enough to be a celebrity, you also have to respect the rules established for the event. If someone does not follow them, they will not be allowed to enter, even if they were invited. And if they do manage to enter, they will not remain inside for very long.
Many conditions are presented to attend the celebrations of this world. But to attend the feast of the Kingdom of Heaven, which is the greatest of all feasts, there is only one requirement! The Bible specifies this requirement and explains how this heavenly feast works:
Then he said to his servants… ‘Go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’ So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 22.8-13
It is clear that the only and indispensable rule established by the Organizer of the feast is to wear a wedding garment. But what kind of garment is this?
We know that a person’s clothes say a lot about them, but, above all, they demonstrate the importance the person considers a particular occasion. What else would God use to see if someone gives the due importance to the feast that He is promoting, other than their faith? So, the wedding garments represent the faith that is manifested.
Some may come to the door of the heavenly feast, but cannot enter. There are also those who, as in the example given by the Lord Jesus, enter, but cannot remain inside. This is simply because both of these people did not attend with faith.
Those who go imbued with faith and those who do not might not be easily identified by man, but they can be easily identified by God. It is as if one were in gala attire and the other wearing raggedy clothes. The first, whether good or bad, is worthy of joining the party. The second, whether good or bad, is not worthy of enjoying the celebration. Even if he manages to enter the feast, he will be identified and quickly removed by the Organizer of the feast.
The King invites everyone – absolutely everyone – to attend His great feast that will take place on Sunday, June 21st. This is such a reserved feast, yet it is so accessible.
All you need to do is follow one rule: come dressed in faith. Everyone who meets this simple requirement will enjoy a different kind of feast that is greater than anything this world can offer.
And best of all: this banquet will remain available every day for the rest of your life! But, those who are unable to follow this simple rule will remain outside or will be expelled by the King Himself.
