I will make you a great nation… Genesis 12.2
God made this promise to Abraham in order to carry out the plan of Salvation for mankind. From that one man, would come a special nation, separated for the birth of the Savior, the Lord Jesus. And Abraham cooperated to make this possible. Even today, after the sacrifice of His Son, God continues to count on the cooperation of men and women who are willing to help with this plan. And, as the nation born of Abraham cooperated towards his success, the nation born of us should also cooperate.
Yes, a nation is born from each person. Everyone influences and inspires others around them, planting thoughts and ideas, and spreading their opinions. The problem is the content we are spreading, and what kind of nation is emerging from us.
Esau was part of a nation chosen by God, but because of an inner shift, he ended up separating from it, and generated a nation that was rejected by God. He had everything to cooperate with the plan of salvation – the blood, primogeniture, courage, his father’s admiration –, except faith. Esau did not produce a nation chosen by God because he was not chosen by God. Unlike Jacob, who had his new name, Israel, used to identify the people God separated.
Likewise, many have everything to cooperate with the plan of Salvation – are in a Church that is led by the Holy Spirit, interacting with people of God, have a good reputation, titles, responsibilities – but no longer have the faith or the vision of winning souls. So they turn away from their focus and begin to think of themselves. They open new churches and invite people to go with them. They stop belonging to a nation that is chosen to be part of a nation that is rejected. The worst part is that they produce people with the same offset that is within them, a great multitude that, instead of cooperating with the plan of God, ends up hindering it.
We were only able to produce what we are. What kind of nation is coming from you? Is it cooperating so that God’s Plan is successful or unsuccessful?
And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and multiply you exceedingly. Genesis 17.2
If the Spirit of God is in charge of multiplying the nations born of His children, the devil is also in charge of multiplying the nations of those born of his children.
