When someone regrets bearing the weight of the cross or the burdens that come with being a Christian, you can be absolutely sure that…
No matter how heavy our daily burdens may be, they are still infinitely less when we take up the yoke of the Lord Jesus.
When someone regrets bearing the weight of the cross or the burdens that come with being a Christian, you can be absolutely sure that this has nothing to do with the yoke of the Lord. After all, it is written, determined and promised that, day after day He bears our burdens. Psalm 68.19
The problem is that because of our bad choices, we reap bad fruit. And when this happens, we cannot blame the Lord for it.
Many hate, ignore and even reject His will. And during the bitter harvest of the flesh, complain to Him? But is this fair?
I have learned that, however great my faith may be, I can never use it to enforce my will.
In this case, it’s worth quoting the saying: “Any man can make mistakes, but only an idiot persists in his error.”
Anyone who wants to avoid evil must flee from it. In other words, if you don’t want to fall victim to the violence and evils of this world, stay away from its diabolical offers. Run away from the wrong crowd, run away from drug and alcohol infused parties; run away from videos, movies, music, dances or any party, public or private, that stimulates sex or the desires of the flesh.
When this is put into practice, the Christian will certainly know that the yoke of the Lord Jesus truly is easy and His burden is light.
Take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11.29-30
