Mount Sinai, also known as the Mount of Moses, reaches 7,497 feet above sea level; it is located in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. There, God first spoke to Moses through a dry burning bush, a marvelous sight that drew the attention of the one that would lead the people of Israel out of Egypt to the Promised Land. The fire did not consume the dry bush, and as Moses came near, God asked him to take the sandals off his feet because he was stepping on holy ground.
“Then He said, ‘Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.’” (Exodus 3.5)
After God had set the people of Israel free from slavery in Egypt, they traveled towards Mount Sinai to offer to God sacrifices according to what He commanded Moses. There, God appeared to Moses and wrote with His finger the 10 commandments to guide the life of those who commit to Him.
“And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.” (Exodus 31.18)
There in this holy mountain, God made a covenant with His people. Mount Sinai was chosen by God and represents a special place of remembrance and faith, where the story of humanity changed and would never be the same. There, a people were prepared and molded to shine God’s glory into this world. “… The Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the Holy Place.” (Psalm 68:17)
Why would God choose a mountain among all places? What is so special about this rocky mountain, which on its peak Moses encountered the Creator of all things. God wants to show to us that through a sincere faith that is put into practice by obeying His word, His voice, one’s life can go from a low and empty place to the top. To climb a mountain requires sacrifice, effort, and perseverance, and to reach the life God promised to His people in all aspects, one must make sacrifices to achieve great things.
“God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise”; He chose Mount Sinai, he chose the dry bush and Moses, and now He chooses you to transform your life into something extraordinary. Since decades, bishops and pastors of The Universal Church have climbed Mount Sinai periodically to take the requests and to cry out for God’s people. Amazing miracles and life transformations have taken place in more than 100 countries in the lives of those who believe. In December of 2016, they will journey to this holy place, and this will be your opportunity to take your faith to the next level.
There was a big wall in Jericho built to prevent to stop the children of God from crossing and taking possession of the promised land. And, many walls have been constructed to keep you from possessing what is already yours.
Do you think that God would promise something that He is not able to fulfill? Do you think that God would ever promise anything that He did not have the power to give to you? Of course not! All that God promised to you, He is well able to do it. Then you may ask, “Why then do I never take possession of these promises? It seems that the more I pray and the more I go to church, the farther I am from my blessings.”
Let me explain what is happening. There is a big wall between you and what you want. On the other side of the wall is all that you need: your blessed family, blessed love life, your business… On your side of the wall, you are unemployed, sick, unmarried, unhappy… However, across the wall is all that you want and dream.
You have to break down the walls! That’s why in The Universal Church, we are having the Campaign of Jericho to break down these walls. Not even one brick will remain. Come to The Universal Church near you and the pastor will help you to overcome 2 walls: the one that you have inside of you and the wall of circumstances that have seen surrounding your life.
Perhaps the years have weakened your faith, and you feel that you have no strength to fight the walls that divide you from your children, that keep you from your own business, the wall that stands between the illness in your body and your health and recovery, the walls of loneliness that block you from finding a compatible partner and being married. By faith, the Wall of Jericho fell after being encircled for 7 days. Regardless of the barrier or wall that stands between you and your happiness; by faith, it can crumble.
Come to any meeting of The Universal Church during this week and join the thousands that will be using their faith to overcome the barriers that stand in their way. Bring your loved ones because a family that prays together stays together.
For several months, people from different places and cultures have been waiting for the Fast of Daniel, which takes place 3 times a year. What has led them to anxiously wait for the Fast of Daniel? What do they receive during the 21 days? What some people receive in the 21 days does not compare to anything else anyone can offer. During the Fast of Daniel, the person is connected to the thoughts of God, and as a consequence, the person has the privilege of receiving Someone valuable and precious – the Holy Spirit. When a person is filled with the Holy Spirit, they have peace, joy, and strength to continue living. What they receive is not temporary but eternal. Have you ever imagined an eternal joy? What about going through difficult moments and not being overtaken by sadness? In the present days, few are those who have peace in their homes and who get to live a happy life. For this and many other reasons, many people will be participating in the Fast of Daniel. Those who feel empty inside will be filled with eternal happiness, and those who already have this happiness will receive even more.
Unlike the usual fasting from food and water, the main goal of the Fast of Daniel is to temporarily become “isolated from the secular world, and experience the living water of the Holy Spirit” – as explained by Bishop Macedo during his radio show. During the 21 days of the Fast of Daniel, participants refrain from entertainment, which in a way interferes with one’s spiritual life, in order to get closer to God’s thoughts. Unlike what it may seem, this kind of fasting from entertainment is not a burden, but instead, it is a unique experience of spiritual edification and purification. When refraining from the massive amount of information that we absorb every day and the worries associated with it, the person’s mind and spirit are purified, and the person is allowed freedom to think and become more sensitive to the voice of God. During this period of spiritual purification, participants stay away from social networks, news, TV series that are not Bible related, secular movies and any other kind of entertainment that can distract them from the main purpose of receiving the Spirit of God in their life.
We will do that during 21 days, beginning on June 5th. Every day we will post messages here on our website to help in your purpose to prioritize the Holy Spirit in your life. You can also listen to our 24-hour online radio which will also have daily messages and prayers to help you stay focused.
“the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14)
Sunday, June 5th at 10am at The Universal Church near you, come join us for the starting of the 21-day Fast of Daniel for the Holy Spirit and become the living fountain.
There are people facing problems in life that are so complex and difficult that it causes the m to become anxious., oppressed and irritable. This in turn leads them to find a way of dealing with that problem when they feel that there is no other way to solve it; a way that only ‘deals’ with it on the srface but is actually a resolution. This method is most often that not, an addiction.
There are some whose addictions have them hooked in so deep that they no longer see anything wrong with it – it has become a part of life. However, there are those who are aware. that they are slowly self-destructing, but do not know how to get out or even ask for help in so deep that they no longer see anything wrong with it – its had become a part of life.
The reality is that whoever is a victim of an addiction, and does not take action against it, will eventually be ruined by it. It’s a dog-eat-dog world and only those who fight back are those ones who survive.
We will fight with you to beat your addiction. And if you are not a victim, but have a family member, or someone you love dearly who is trapped in the never-ending cycle of addiction, then er encourage you to fight on their behalf.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn and take one more step closer to the love life you’ve always dreamed of having.
The meetings take place every Thursday at 7pm at the UCKG Help Centre (2420 Dufferin Street, Toronto, ON, M6E 3S8).
The down-to-earth sessions use a mixture of practical advice, real life examples, interactive meetings, and prayerful support not only to help you identify what to look for in a possible partner, but it also works to help you pinpoint the areas within you that need fine-tuning.
If you stop to take a look back at all the things that have taken place in your life throughout 2015, we’re sure that a multitude of events, challenges, victories and decisions — good and bad — will flood your mind.
For most of us, the 5,4,3,2,1 that will usher in 2016 is more than welcome because you can finally close a chapter, wipe the slate clean and start afresh… but does it really work this way?
Think with us: Do our dreams, problems and challenges know that it’s a New Year, or do they just roll on indifferent to the calendar change?
The truth is that, unless a person decides to go beyond their list of resolutions and DO what it takes, 2016 will only be a continuation of 2015.
So, to kick-start things on the right foot, join us at the New Year’s Eve Vigil on Thursday 31 December, from 10pm-12:15am.
Start the year 2016 with the Divine Light in your life!
On the day, you will pass through the WAY OF LIGHT . “And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.” Job 22:28
See this night as you laying down the foundation to a year full of light.
The idea most people have about love is usually this: it is an intense emotion, you are willing to do anything for the person, and you can’t live without them. Hollywood movies and romantic songs are usually the first to portray love this way. It seems almost blissful when you’re watching your favorite romance, but this is not the reality, and we should make it a point to remember this.
Singles and couples alike believe that with love comes a sense of perfection; nothing can go wrong, and when it does, many consider separating as their first option. However, the idea of marriage is not for it to break apart a few years later; both partners enter with hopes of being committed and having someone committed to them until the end. And you? What is your idea on how to maintain a happy and healthy relationship?
We believe the road to maintaining a healthy relationship begins by knowing the truth about love. There are many uncertainties when it comes to relationships, and couples and singles may be looking for the answers in the wrong places. Have you ever received advice about your relationship but knew it wasn’t what you were searching for? At the Love Therapy, you will receive the helpful advice that you need.
For 21 Thursdays, we will be targeting 21 truths about love. Forget what you learned in that famous romantic movie or heard in that sweet song that brings tears to your eyes. This meeting was designed for you to have a better and stronger relationship. Get to know your partner and yourself better.
Is there something about your life that you wish you could change? A bad habit, a bad relationship that you wish you had the strength to let go of, do you have the desire to believe in yourself? Many people have something they wish they could change about themselves but do not have the direction on how to do it. They try and fail, and they believe that their life was destined to be that way.
Despite what many may believe, changing your life does not begin with your bank account, how happy you are in your love life, how fulfilled you are professionally or how many years you invest in an education. Change begins from the inside out. When you are pleased with who you are on the inside, you are able to conquer whatever you reach for in your life.
Problems will come of course, they come to everyone, but you will be strong enough to face them when you deal with what is inside of you first.
For 21 days we will dedicate ourselves to changing what is inside. From September 20th to October 11th, The Universal Church worldwide will hold the 21-Day Fast of Daniel for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This fasting has nothing to do with food and drink; instead, we will be fasting from secular information, social media and entertainment. These three weeks will be dedicated to investing in you, in your spiritual life and in starting anew.
In all locations of The Universal Church, bishops and pastors will explain Who the Holy Spirit is and how He can help you receive a new life and become a new person. Do not miss this opportunity.
