God x Mammon

Idolatry comes in various forms, but all of them go against God. Idolatry is not only the worship of images made of paper, clay, wood, metal or any material, which is practiced in various religions.

There are those who idolize their children, loved ones, people in general, and even themselves. Some people idolize their career, social position or leisure activities, putting all of this above God in their lives.

Whatever the form of idolatry, it means replacing the Creator with what is being worshiped. But when the idol is material goods or money, idolatry reaches the top limit of aggression to God. In this case, the Eternal is replaced by perishable material goods.

In a very simple and objective way, the Lord teaches:

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6.24

Mammon is the god of material wealth.

Life with abundance is a right of the followers of the Son of God. However, this abundance can never become the master of the servants of God. Money is a great servant, but a bad master.

Money should be seen as a fertilizer. It only serves when used for the common welfare.

The spirit of Mammon imposes greed upon his servants. This causes spiritual blindness, which neutralizes the understanding of faith, making it impossible for those attached to material goods to have access to spiritual goods; this is, to eternal salvation.

To be in full communion with God, on the path of eternal salvation, we must give up the service to Mammon.

Hell in a moment

“Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world “in a moment” of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” Lucas 4.5-7

What can be done in the blink of an eye?

Nothing, and at the same time, everything!

In just “a moment” you can imagine yourself anywhere in the world.

It is possible to go to the past as well as the future.

In “a moment” the devil showed the Lord Jesus all the kingdoms of the world, those that existed and those that were to exist.

The devil showed the glory, the shine, and the bright colors of this world, which catch the attention of the eye and are nourished by thoughts.

How many men, in just a moment, imagine themselves betraying their wife with another woman?

The Lord Jesus did not let Himself be distracted, He appealed to the Word of God.

This is called “BEING IN SPIRIT, BEING VIGILANT.”

The entrance to heaven or hell depends on the decisions we make every moment.

Therefore, we understand that the sacrifice for our salvation is constant, 24 hours a day, sacrificing our flesh and will to do the Will of God.

Therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, a bulge in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. Isaiah 30.13

Remember: Anything can happen in an instant.

The Mark of hell

When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth. And Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is greater than I can bear! Surely You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground; I shall be hidden from Your face; I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me.” And the Lord said to him, “Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.” And the Lord set a mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him.
Genesis 4.12-15

I was meditating on this passage and kept asking myself: Why didn’t God kill Cain to avenge what he did to Abel? Would that not be an act of justice for what he did?

However, the Holy Spirit gave me a revelation about this: God preferred to put a “mark” on him, so that wherever he went everyone would see it. He would be shamed everywhere, even those who had never heard of him would know that there was something wrong with him, because that “mark” would single him out anywhere. That humiliation was worse than death.

God avenged Abel by marking Cain with this humiliation every day of his life, hoping that he would repent of what he did, which apparently did not happen.

This brings me to the situation of so many people today, including those who are considered servants of God whose offerings have been rejected by God, like Cain, because they have not put all their souls in what they do. There is no blood, no life in their offering! They are indolent, deceitful, feigned, and only show an appearance of holiness, and live the opposite of the Word of God.

In front of everyone and the institution they are one thing, but behind they are another. They try to demonstrate that they serve the Altar, and those who see them even think they are of God, but when we look into their lives they are continuously failing. There is no growth in any area, only failure after another. They end up being a shame to the Gospel, wandering from one place to another, aimlessly, without direction, envious, trying at all costs to kill the “Abels” that grow and develop.

Isn’t this considered the “Mark of Cain”? Even for those who do not know them it is clear that the mark of hell is stamped on them. Hate and envy are part of their life.

God could even wipe these people out of the face of the earth, but He leaves them, like Cain, so that they may be humiliated everywhere they go, running and wandering until the day they repent or die in their deceit and sin!

The power of decision is in our hands. My ministry, my marriage, my life will be the reflection of the offering I have offered on the Altar of God, because what we offer either justifies or condemns us. It solely depends on me. No one else can be held accountable for what I offer.

Ps. Be careful with the “Cains” that go around, spreading their venom of envy and hatred, trying to get you, just like them, to bear the Mark of Hell.

Forgotten Warrior

Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day… Joshua 14.12

When the children of Israel left Egypt, they did it based on the Word of God, which determined they would be given the Promised Land. Each Tribe of Israel would have its part of the inheritance according to each one’s fidelity, performance and importance. Then Moses divided the earth and did everything according to the Promise of God.

But I have said to you, “You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from the peoples. Leviticus 20.24

Time passed, the Tribes of Israel received their share of the inheritance, but only one person was forgotten: Caleb. This warrior played a very important role in the history of the people of Israel, because he was the only person, together with Joshua, who believed and defended the quality of the land.

And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Joshua 14.10-11

Dear reader, you might be facing the same problem. Time is passing, and God’s Promise hasn’t been fulfilled in your life yet. Maybe you feel forgotten by God and despised by men. DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED!!! Do as Caleb. Though he had been forgotten, he did not waver and stood firm in the same faith in which God had called him.

Believe that just as Caleb was honored, despite all the suffering and forgetfulness on behalf of many, God will also honor you. The Word of God will be fulfilled in your life and, by faith, you will also receive your share of this inheritance.
A TRUE WARRIOR WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance. Joshua 14.13

I stopped being an atheist

Bishop Edir Macedo,

I am very grateful to you for introducing me to a Faith that I had never heard of, an intelligent Faith. It was through this Faith that I stopped being an atheist.  Yes, I was an atheist, and there was no convincing me that I was wrong.

Whenever I heard someone mention your name or the Universal Church, it made me angry. This is when someone gave me a book, the first volume of Nothing to Lose, which I read with great resistance. It’s impressive because I couldn’t put the book down. I have read the three volumes and was baptized in water here in the Cathedral of Fortaleza – CE.

Rational Faith, In the Footsteps of Jesus, The Faith of Abraham and other books that I read confirm how much God is with you and the best thing I did in my life was to walk into a Universal Church.

I am grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to walk with Him, and I thank you because it was through your life that my life changed. Today, I am almost married, thanks to the Love Therapy meetings. My financial life is prospering, and God is shaping my life.

May God continue to bless you more and more, Bishop Odivan, who is here today in Fortaleza and the other bishops and pastors because they are true messengers of God on this earth.

Regards!

Tiago Jedson

What is written, is Written

What is written?

Everything that the LORD has spoken to mankind. God does not speak nonsense or waste time with empty words. When He opens His mouth, His words have the right direction and never return empty, as He Himself promises:

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55.11

This is, everything that He said through the Prophets will happen, even under the worst circumstances.

When tests come back positive and the doctors give you no hope, what matters is that the Lord took upon Himself our illnesses and our pains… and by His stripes we were healed. Isaiah 53.5. This is written and it is determined!

If the prince of darkness was not able to stand the three “it is written” spoken by the Lord Jesus, imagine illnesses, infirmities and any other schemes that come from hell… Everything is a matter of faith in the Written Promises!

He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16.16

This is not the end

Dear Mrs. Cris,

I would like to tell you about my latest experience with God. I was married for 7 years. My husband was a pastor for 17 years. He was my husband, boyfriend, lover and friend. I was truly happy during those years, but on September 7th, God called him. We fought against medical malpractice for 4 years, and, as you said during one of our monthly meetings, I did everything. I did chains of prayer, campaigns, fasts and Israel Challenges, I gave everything I had and even what I did not have, and my request to God was: “Lord, I want You to restore my husband’s health, and if it is not for him to be 100% healthy, then save him.” I thought about this for a long time before finally putting it down on paper, but I did it, hoping, of course, that his health would be restored.

Several times, various thoughts crossed my mind, such as: “Oh God! He is a pastor and has served the Lord for years, this is not fair!” During the October meeting, God used you and Mrs. Esther to show me that He is God and does not have to give me an explanation about His plans. He knows what He is doing and how He will do it. In my life, I always received a yes from God. Sometimes it took a bit longer, but His response always came in a positive way. However, He showed me that His answer is not always yes. It’s not always what we want, but what we need.

Today I am a young widow, but I am sure that God’s best is yet to come upon my love life. He gave me the best 7 years, I was happy and faithful until the end with the one God trusted me to take care of, but I know this is not the end, but the beginning of a new story, since I am at the disposal of God and the Altar.

I am grateful to God for the life of Bishop Macedo and Mrs. Ester, and I am grateful to them for having given you to us, because you always provide us with your experiences, and gave us the gift of Godllywood. This family welcomed me, both in the midst of the wives and in the midst of the assistants. I am grateful to this wonderful work that today I return to as an assistant, but without losing my focus, which is to please and obey my Lord, wherever He places me.

Everyone looks at me and don’t believe that I am doing this well. They see me as a fortress. It is not easy to go through all of this, but I will overcome and I will get out of this situation a better person, I believe!

Apostasy

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons… 1 Timothy 4.1

We have seen many people fall away from the faith. Everywhere we look, we find people who have been inside a Christian church at least once and have listened to the Word of God, but have somehow fallen away. We are truly living the last days, but, why is this happening?

These people began well, but in time, instead of perfecting themselves in the Spirit, they perfected themselves in the flesh.

…having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

Galatians 3.3

The number of lost sheep and lost coins inside the house (church) is very troubling, because it is more difficult to remain until the end than to give your life to the Lord Jesus. To keep our name written in the Book of Life is a challenge that few can accomplish.

For these people, Jesus says:

…and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life. Revelation 3.5

How can you keep from falling away from the faith? First you need to know:

… Who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. Galatians 5.7-8

The answer lies in becoming enslaved to your feelings. The first sign of life when a child is born is when he cries. This makes mankind a “hostage” of his feelings, which lead him to sin. The only way to be free from this slavery is by being born again.

…Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. John 8.34-35

Now we understand why there are so many who have fallen away, so many lost coins, who came to church, did chain of prayers, received miracles, and even held positions (assistants, pastors, etc.), but never became His children, because they remained enslaved to their feelings, which led them to sin.

The only solution for those who are in the church, but find themselves in this situation, is to be born again.

What about those who fell away? Return as soon as possible and start over again, sacrificing the will of your flesh and becoming sons and not slaves.

Were you called while a slave? Do not be concerned about it; but if you can be made free, rather use it. 1 Corinthians 7.21

God bless you!

Eternal Condemnation

He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16.16

What would this condemnation be? Those who have already been condemned here on earth know very well the terrible pain and despair this word carries.

I’ve had the opportunity to speak to people who were convicted of stealing, killing, kidnapping, or making mistakes that caused them to be put behind bars. Some told me that they were sentenced to five, six and even ten years in prison. When I asked them about the day they received their sentence, they all said the same thing with tears in their eyes: “It was the worst day of my life.”

Prison is temporary. Many people even manage to reduce their sentence, whether for good behavior, with bail, lawyers and other means. When a person is condemned here on earth, there are means that will allow him to released from prison. This condemnation is not eternal. It may take a few years, but there is the possibility of freedom.

But when it comes to spiritual condemnation, it is different, because it is eternal. After death, the person will not have anyone else to turn to, he will no longer have anyone to ask for help, he will not have a lawyer and there will be no more freedom.

Nobody likes the idea of being imprisoned, not even for a day. So much so, that when a person receives a 10-year sentence, for example, he goes into despair.
Now, stop and think… if you knew that you would be imprisoned for all of eternity, what would you be willing to do to be free from this condemnation?

Therefore we preach the gospel to all of creation, to every nation, so that no one goes to this place. The ship of Salvation is passing, but if you do not go in it, if you do not pay the price, if you do not sacrifice your life, you will regret it and then it will be too late.

And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. Matthew 25.46

Those who reject this ship today will suffer the grave consequences of their choices on Judgment Day. Each person will receive their sentence, whether it is because of the corrupt and unjust acts they practiced or for their position before God and others.

The condemned will suffer the greatest torments and pains for all of eternity. But the righteous, who accepted to enter the ship of Salvation, will enjoy the Glory of God and live with Him forever.
Seize the opportunity, before you are eternally condemned.
Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Isaiah 55.6

2017 will explode

2016 has ended, and many people were left feeling as though they did not achieve what they intended. Others, with a heavy heart, entered 2017 thinking about problems that brought them much sadness. However, regardless of how the year ended and how the new year began, the Word of God is emphatic in determining:

Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? Isaiah 43.18-19

Now, it is up to you to do the same: forget everything you left behind, and start with self-forgiveness. In other words, forgive yourself for everything and forgive everyone who mistreated you. Throw away into last year’s garbage can all the chains of darkness that bound you. Sorrows, doubts, bad thoughts, bad eyes and everything else that still holds you back, whether it is a recent past or not.

“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.” In other words, you should not beat yourself up over what you did or didn’t do, nor should you blame yourself or blame someone for something that happened. Stop thinking about what has already happened and look towards the target, which is in front of you.

There are only 363 days remaining until 2017 comes to an end. However, there are 363 new opportunities to start over. So start determining today what will happen in upcoming days.

The Lord does one new and greater thing every day, but He asks, “Shall you not know it?” To know the good things that the Almighty has done, we must have good eyes and, above all, faith. Good eyes make us see the same perspective as God, and faith makes us achieve what we see.

Therefore, if you determine right now and begin to take actions that show your faith, I don’t have the slightest doubt that 2017 will be the best year of your life and YOU WILL EXPLODE!!!!
